Rose Torio
Physical Therapist

Rose Torio is our Director of the Physical Therapy department here at Mesa Verde. She has worked here for 2 years. She has been practicing Physical Therapy for almost 16 years (13 years in SNF , 3 years- acute care therapy, general rehab. & home health therapy). She also has skills in orthopedic and long term care. Rose has a number of commendations received from various residents as to the quality of care provided in the P.T. Department.


Christie Simms
Occupational Therapy

Christie Simms has worked as an occupational therapist for over 35 years now. She first received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California. She has also had experience with adults in acute, sub-acute, and home care settings. Christie has also had much experience with infants in acute, outpatient, rehabilitation, and home care settings as well.


Gale Tracer
Speech-Language Pathologist

Gale Tracer has a diverse background in the field of speech pathology. She Started her career as an instructor at Santa Ana Community College, teaching classes for the speech department, providing speech therapy to neurologically-impaired adults, and supervising graduate student interns gaining field experience toward their master's degrees. During her tenure there, she helped develop speech classes in pronunciation and conversational skills for many refugees who made Orange County their new home in the 1980's. In 1990, Gale changed her focus to rehabilitation speech pathology, working in hospitals, home health settings, and skilled nursing facilities. She had gained an excellent reputation in South Orange County and is currently contracting Speech Pathology services to Mesa Verde Convalescent Hospital training our residents to improve their swallowing safety and ability to communicate effectively. Her goal is to help each resident achieve his or her maximum level of independence.
